【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsdescribelaboratorytestsforcomparingtheresistanceofstainlesssteelsandrelatedalloystotheinitiationofpittingandcrevicecorrosion.Theresultsmaybeusedforrankingalloysinorderofincreasingresistancetopittingandcrevicecorrosioninitiationunderthespecificconditionsofthesemethods.MethodsAandBaredesignedtocausethebreakdownofType304atroomtemperature.Theuseofferricchloridesolutionsisjustifiedbecauseitisrelatedto,butnotthesameas,thatwithinapitorcrevicesiteonaferrousalloyinchloridebearingenvironments(1,2).Thepresenceofaninertcreviceformerofconsistentdimensiononasurfaceisregardedassufficientspecificationofcrevicegeometrytoassessrelativecrevicecorrosionsusceptibility.Therelativeperformanceofalloysinferricchloridesolutiontestshasbeencorrelatedtoperformanceincertainrealenvironments,suchasnaturalseawateratambienttemperature(3)andstronglyoxidizing,lowpH,chloridecontainingenvironments(4),butseveralexceptionshavebeenreported(4-7).MethodsA,B,C,D,E,andFcanbeusedtoranktherelativeresistanceofstainlesssteelsandnickelbasealloystopittingandcrevicecorrosioninchloride-containingenvironments.Nostatementcanbemadeaboutresistanceofalloysinenvironmentsthatdonotcontainchlorides.MethodsA,B,C,D,E,andFweredesignedtoacceleratethetimetoinitiatelocalizedcorrosionrelativetomostnaturalenvironments.Consequently,thedegreeofcorrosiondamagethatoccursduringtestingwillgenerallybegreaterthanthatinnaturalenvironmentsinanysimilartimeperiod.NostatementregardinglocalizedcorrosionpropagationcanbemadebasedontheresultsofMethodsA,B,C,D,EorF.Surfacepreparationcansignificantlyinfluenceresults.Therefore,grindingandpicklingofthespecimenwillmeanthattheresultsmaynotberepresentativeoftheconditionsoftheactualpiecefromwhichthesamplewastaken.Note18212;Grindingorpicklingonstainlesssteelsurfacesmaydestroythepassivelayer.A24-hairpassivationaftergrindingorpicklingissufficienttominimizethesedifferences(8).TheproceduresinMethodsC,D,EandFformeasuringcriticalpittingcorrosiontemperatureandcriticalcrevicecorrosiontemperaturehavenobiasbecausethevaluesaredefinedonlyintermsofthesetestmethods.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthedeterminationoftheresistanceofstainlesssteelsandrelatedalloystopittingandcrevicecorrosion(seeTerminologyG15)whenexposedtooxidizingchlorideenvironments.SixproceduresaredescribedandidentifiedasMethodsA,B,C,D,E,andF.1.1.1MethodA8212;Ferricchloridepittingtest.1.1.2MethodB8212;Ferricchloridecrevicetest.1.1.3MethodC8212;Criticalpittingtemperaturetestfornickel-baseandchromium-bearingalloys.1.1.4MethodD8212;Criticalcrevicetemperaturetestfornickel-baseandchromium-bearingalloys.1.1.5MethodE8212;Criticalpittingtemperaturetestforstainlesssteels.1.1.6MethodF8212;Criticalcrevicetemperaturetestforstainlesssteels.
